National Cable TV Center & Museum Selects HostWorks

Long considered the home of cable television, Denver now will boast the nation's first museum dedicated to the history and future of cable and the people who forever changed our television viewing habits. The major benefactors of The Cable Center (www.cablecenter.org) include Paul Allen, Jeffery Marcus, and Marcus Cable. Powerhouses like Paul Allen, Jeffrey Marcus, Bill Daniels and Ted Turner will be featured in the Tech Center museum.

HostWorks, one of Denver's major players in the web applications field, has been tapped to host and support the web site for this significant project. HostWorks will also develop several innovative web applications for the museum. Paul Gilpatrick, president of HostWorks, comments that "we're proud to be associated with this history-making endeavor. Celebrating technology and how it changes people's lives is a significant long-term project. HostWorks appreciates being awarded the opportunity to support The Cable Center."

The three principle museum functions are: Public Learning and Education, Education and Training, and Heritage Recognition and Commemoration. These functions are achieved through five components on the site: The Library, The Institute, The Museum, The Demonstration Academy, and The Center Programs. The Cable Center draws upon world-class creative media from all of the industry and from all over the world.
